It very doubtful that 2K will drop the Bioshock franchise. It has made a lot of money for them. We have no idea when a new game may be out though. sm

According to 2K, the BioShock franchise is currently being handled by 2K Marin. 2K Marin happens to be the last remnant of Irrational Games (2K Marin was founded by several Irrational Games employees who left the company), as both Irrational Games and 2K Australia (which was once part of IG) have both been shut down. 2K Marin helped port BioShock over to the PS3, and they developed BioShock 2. So, if any company still running today can bring us a true BioShock experience, it's 2K Marin.

The problem is, before 2K Marin was revealed to be the new official developers for the series, they underwent a huge staff reduction, and the studio was practically gutted, save for a few employees. 2K announced that 2K Marin will be in control of the BioShock series, but that doesn't mean there will be a new game. 2K Marin will have to decide for themselves whether to make a new BioShock game and considering that their website has only has two people listed under "Our Talent", I think it'll be awhile before the studio is strong enough to make a new BioShock game.

No company can bring us a true BioShock without Ken Levine. BioShock (game) is over until Levine decides to go back to it (and he hasn't denied this possibility, but has stated that this is not happening for a while).
Да, это новый Биошок

Personally, I hope they never do another Bioshock Game. Bioshock Infinite and the Burial at Sea DLCs ended it in a good and mostly satisfying way. My best hope is that Levine comes up with an equaly-great and unique IP.

Wow. You definitely need to play Burial at Sea 1 and 2. If you haven't playe Bioshock 1 and 2, do that before BaS.

Your point is kinda invalid: 2K Marin made Bioshock 2 and it was a true Bioshock game, especially with Minverva's Den included. Levine's work on the franchise is course very important but let's face it, he already made 2 Bioshock games so a new team with new ideas could actually be a good thing at this point. I think that as long as the franchise focuses on storytelling and exploration-based, non-linear gameplay (not a strong point for Infinite sadly) we should be fine and hey: so far only 2K Marin managed to create a Bioshock game with really solid combat mechanics.

Good. What they did to the Borderlands franchise is unforgivable.
