game launcher needs to create folder
Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite
folder should contain folders Benchmarks Binaries XGame
your config/settings are in the XGame\Config folder
if these folders/files are missing
check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.
check windows security/controlled folder access.
if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.
running Windows One Drive? One Drive moves files out of the Documents folder.
Windows One Drive was released in 2007. VERY many websites with
tutorials/manuals/movies/youtube videos written by experts devoted to
One Drive/synching files/using steam, etc. if you use/need One Drive
consult a tutorial/manual/video and learn how to exclude folders, leave
a local copy of the data, or other options.
if you do not use/need One Drive, disable/uninstall it. One Drive moves
files out of the Documents folder and may affect another app/game.
check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history.
might be a game crash event or system related problems.
laptop? make sure game is using dedicated graphics card
2013 game. maybe try 2013 settings of monitor=60 and fps=60 and resolution=1920x1080. maybe game cannot handle your 400hz, unlimited fps, 4k, dual 5090 system
try the Issues Unresolved section in:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/BioShock_Infinite
-Unlinked one drive from my computer: https://support.microsoft.com/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0
-Then you hit browse local files on the bioshock infinite steam page in your library.
-Go to the Binaries folder, the Prerequisites folder, and then the directx_Jun2010_redist folder.
-Then you wanna scroll down until you see DXSETUP.exe, click on it and download it.
-Go back to the Prerequisites folder and click vcredist_x86_vs2008sp1.exe. Then you want to select REPAIR.
-Go back to the prerequisites folder and click on vcredist_x86_vs2010sp1.exe. Select REPAIR again.
-Then restart your computer and it should work. Worked for me at least.
