Columbia's Finest - when do I receive equipment?

I bought (as I thought) Bioshock Infinite Copy + Columbia's Finest + Clash in the Clouds DLC locally (retail of steam key), but I did not notice any of DLC additional gear - I'm 2 hours deep in-game (didn't met the girl yet):

* No golden pistol / sniper / shotgun
* No additional lockpicks
* No unique gear set

When should I receive this equipment? I found my answer partially in this topic & some scrap info on other sites.

Do You think that reseller just scamming me? I did not receive even some in-game notice that I have dlc.

iirc you get it at the start (well, start of combat). theres no reason the girl is gonna unlock anything, you should immediately have a golden pistol (again as i recall..) i think this was preorder bonus? and your gear youll have a full set. if you cant access gear, maybe that doesnt unlock till later but it sounds like you dont have them activated to me.

No idea where the golden stuff are but you do get the cash and unique gear early on in the second level. You get the lockpicks later on in the game aswell.

I'm at Monument Island Gateway ,so I think it's already pass "second level"?

is your pistol golden? basically as soon as combat started you shouldve had a gold pistol if the dlc is active

You probably need to restart Steam and the download for the DLC start. IF you absolutely want the stuff though, you need to start a new game. Yes it sucks.

And none of my weapons were golden in the game but I did get the gear.

I don't care about color of guns :).

To be precise: Resleller gave me one key to register all 3 products mentioned above. I did not see any DLC in properties of the game, that's why I'm confused.


It's fine for me to restart the game - 2 hours is not that much to lose, but I need to be sure that I actually have the DLC , not only the base version of the game.

It's little stupid ,but where did You find the gear? I just want to be sure before complaining even more to reseller.

Go to your library/game list and right click on Bioshock and look at DLC. It should tell you which DLC you own but that doesn't mean they're installed.

You should get the gear at the Blue Ribbon, the gear will just be on the tables. Don't forget to pick up the gold/silver bar thingie. I almost missed it haha.

I had to restart Steam twice I think(?) before the DLC started downloading.

I'll assume you already activated the codes for the DLC.

When you started the main game, on the black screen, there should have been a couple of announcements at the bottom that you needed to press ENTER to skip. They informed you that you received your bonus.

You get your golden revolver once the fighting starts and you enter the house with Luttece twins. Simply, your pistol has golden visual style. Also, when you pick your first shotgun or something, it should again have golden color.

In the room with Lutteces (who give you a shield!), you found plenty of bonus equipment and some golden bars (500 dollars).

If that's the case, then everything is the way it should be.

thats cute that you dont care about the color of yr guns, but as said above its the simplest way to know if any of the dlc is active.

Thank You all for fast response - key I have registered only base game , not the DLC (I don't have any notices about bonus stuff , nor extra gear in the bar , nor DLC in the library).

As I checked on my purchase history it registered only "Bioshock Infinite Retail (WW)".

I'm sure that I can claim my order right now!

I just bought it and activated it (from GamersGate, using a Steam key). It is the only DLC I have bought for BioShock Infinite and this is my screenshot from the "DLC" tab in "Properties", so you can confirm if you have it:

As you can see, it doesn't add a "BioShock Infinite - Columbia's Finest DLC" entry, just separated entries for 4 different items. And for what I have read, all these items are found in The Blue Ribbon, after the shooting starts in the beginning of the game.

But since I'm in Monument Island and already past that point, I guess I will have to start all over again, or wait until my next playthrough to get any of those items...
