Steam Achievements not triggering?

I have acquired achievements in game but the Steam client isn't registering them. Is there a known problem or is this something on my end?

Are you playing via Steam in 'Online' mode?

I completed the game in 1999 mode in 2013 and only got 5 achievements total, despite being 'Online' in Steam. :( Replayed in Easy mode in 2023 and the achievements unlocked as expected.

I have no explanation..

steam launcher - friends - online\away\invisible - should be ok (but i play online almost all time) - offline voids the achievements for some games, because in some (most? all?) games you need the internet connection to register them, because it uses Steam API

Ahh yes - I play in online mode. I am actively getting achievements in other games. Just no this one. :(

Aerial Assassin won't work. I am not inclined to continue to play towards the others without being able to trigger that one.

you know, i saw the progress several times, not sure if i have 20 kills right now (im in the hall of heroes). Need to test it more thoroughly

ok, clash in clouds skyhook kills dont count for some reason. maybe dlc. need to proceed story

ok. i ve got the achievement, but apparently it was way pass 20. Im guessing on some clothes effects, that counts towards the killing, like firebird or something. I suggest to try it as early as possible or after getting the "winter shield" shirt. It gives several seconds of invincibility each time you jump on and from the skyline. And it resets on action so wherever you can use skyline - you become literally invincible and achievement can be done without sweating (im playing on 1999 mode without dlc that give additional weapon upgrades, infusions and clothes items, so i needed to be more careful)

my current clothes setup is hat - ammo cap, shirt - winter shield, pants - head master, boots - vampire's embrace. Good luck trying)
