Fatal error! in loading

When I first play this game. It shut down and show as following Fatal error!
Could you tell me some suggestion to solve this error.

I guess does it need lowest disk space or diver version?
My driver version is nvidia 457.49
OS is MS Window 10

I see a lot of "filename not found" msgs. try steam verify game files?

run game from game folder and not from your steam library or an icon. sometimes an error msg appears noit hidden by steam

check windows event viewer and windows reliability history. might be a game crash event or system related msgs.

nvidia 457.49 is from 2020. has your windows 10 been updated since 2020? might try updating graphics card driver if for nothing else, security updates.

Thanks. I have just run the game from the game folder, but it show the same or similar problem.

I will follow your suggestion about windows event viewer and windows reliability history. And update the graphics card drivers.

I just noticed another potential problem. Sometimes BSI doesn't work if it's not on the "C" drive. Not all people have the problem, but some do. sm

well~ I still not solve this problem, and my C drive is full of system file and user profile files... I' ll try again ... may be later...

If it finds any corrupted system files it'll fix them for you. If none of that works then, I dunno, if it were me I'd wipe Windows and reinstall everything. I suppose it could be maybe something like your antivirus (if you've got one) causing the issue but beyond all of that, no idea.

Little late but found this thread while trying to solve my own version of this. In my case the error was due to the game being unable to create the My Games folders. My game was on one drive (D) and documents on another (E). So to fix this I created the following folders
E:\My Games\BioShock Infinite
E:\My Games\BioShock Infinite\Benchmarks
E:\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame
E:\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config
E:\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\SaveData

Game started right up. Hope this helps someone else/future me :)

Moving my game to the C: Drive didn't help and neither did creating the missing folders, but running it in compatibility mode: Windows 8 sorted it!
