The only reason Skyhook attack won't work is because Elizabeth is like 50lbs and if she tried to jump on a Splicer it would basically be the equivalent of a cat jumping on your lap
The next thing I hate about this DLC is that it encourages you to take it slow and methodically by sneaking around taking your targets off one by one. But die? Oh! Let's have you begin that whole level again! Stealth games really do need quicksaves. Deus Ex: HR had it, Skyrim had it. Not to mention that Elizabeth can't handle much damage so you're likely very dead the moment you're spotted. In the original Bioshock the progress you made was at least retained. So whatever enemies you killed or loot you got that wasn't something you had to repeat again.
EDIT: Put it down on Easy. It's annoying as hell, but at least you won't feel like ragequitting every five minutes.
Simple solution - do not die. The game really is not that difficult. Even on 1998 I died only a couple of times. Upgraded Peeping Tom allows you to stay hidden indefinitely (I did not use other vigors). You can also hide in shafts. Do not step in water or broken glass. Jump to the ceiling for a moment if need be. Move using shafts to avoid enemies when possible. Knock out enemies using either melee or sleeping darts. If confronted, aim for the head. Sometimes you can even run past enemies since they will not follow you into a new area.
You can use the autosave system to your advantage by moving to an autosave spot every time you kill a couple of enemies or collect loot. On a side note, Skyrim was not much of a stealth game, stealth was just one of many mechanics there.
Hmmmm, not sure how you're getting that. You might want to play like Batman, but this isn't an Arkham game. You're going to end up making heavy use of the Peeping tom plasmid, which is ridiculously powerful after some upgrades.
I think you're getting the wrong idea of what the game wants you to do. It doesn't want you to do anything necessarily except not get caught and find your macguffins (with the exception of one short section near the end of the game that basically works as your boss battle).
To that end, you're practically overpowered with the peeping tom. I'm bad at games in general, and I loved this game, yet even I found it easy.
this game wants you to stealth but offers nothing more than a silenced weapon whose ammo is very rare (i know you can pick up the bolts from dead enemies) and some skyhooks if you're lucky
So you haven't reached the Peeping Tom plasmid yet.
Explains a lot.
But I do remember accidently firing my only gas bolt into an empty corner, instead of the noise maker. The Possession Plasmid is also good for dealing with turrets.
