Report a translation problem
This works for me (via XiDeR's 2021 post):
Try this Launch option -DisableTexturePool
For some reason the game seems to be cycling through all of the textures in sequence (low to high). The above command limits the game to only the selected texture map(s).
I'm currently running it maxxed out with no issues (finally) re textures, and it's actually LESS taxing on my hardware.
I'll update if that should change. :)
