[solved] Elevator at Comstock glitch

Everytime I continue my game I get stuck in the elevator at comstock near endgame.

I tried loading previous chapter multiple times and everytime I get to the elevator I get stuck deeper.

Now when I load in im out of bounds.

Anyone knows how to fix it?

A few people have had this problem before.

One method:

Fixed it, restarting the last chapter in window mode on low settings led to Booker "falling" out of Columbia in the beginning of the "Hand of the Prophet" chapter and after getting resurrected by Elizabeth the game continued normally.

Another:

Incase anyone comes across this. The fix appears to be directly related to uncapped fps, and a glitch with the crank gun.

I replayed the level multiple times and was able to fix it by having vsync on (no amount of other graphic changes worked) and not picking up the crank gun.

Thanks for your reply. It didnt fix it unfortunatly. But I found out, if I reload it a couple of times, I glitch enough far down, to avoid the wall colissions that lead outside the map and was able to kill myself and get ressurected in the room by Eli. :)

Thank you for your help! I couldn't figure out that the problem was frame limitation. I checked the integrity of the data, reinstalled the game completely, which I just didn’t do, but nothing helped. Good thing I found this discussion, thanks again

My friend had the same problem and this worked for him: Low setting window mode, after reloading the game, not jumping. Just stay in crouch and walk backwards, slightly to the left. You will fall out of the map and get ressurected in the room. This even worked with crank gun. have you tried the one that got mine fixed my keep reloading? I dont remember if it was reloading or if you could do a quick save and reload from quick save and repeat..

If we are talking about the same level (at the end after the turnstiles) you need to read the book at the table at the beginning of the room first.

Odd that a reinstall worked but the cache check didn't. Maybe the file that was bad was a prerequisite that went bad. Glad you got it working. sm
