I've checked with the graphics card driver and it's the latest. Running perfectly fine as far as I can tell when playing other games. No glitches, stuttering, nor performance issues. All other games work as expected.
I've also checked Windows Update for any new updares, so far nothing and I'm running the latest patch. Windows Defender not asking for more updates. Cleaned all temp Windows Update folders via various safe cleaners.
I keep checking for game file integrity over and over. It always downloads 8.2 MB of data (I'm not sure what those files are) after checking. Doesn't happen with other games. Not sure what that 8.2 MB of data is and don't know why it does this. I've fully reinstalled BioShock Infinite again, nothing new happened.
Benchmark? Game doesn't run, unfortunately. I can't even get the game to show up in task manager. I run the benchmark, a CMD interface pops up, I select options, Steam says it's launching BioShock, then nothing. No windows, no errors.
I've tried the usual fixes. Ran the game in compatibility mode up to Windows Vista. Cleared temporary files. Reinstalled all prerequisite software. Ran as admin. Disabled Steam Overlay. Disabled Steam Cloud saves. Ran the game from the EXE file. Nothing.
I'm as baffled as you. The game really doesn't start. It doesn't even show up in the task manager. No 2K games logo, no taskbar appearance. The only crash reports I get are from Windows Performance Monitor.
I've ran checks with Windows to see if the newly-installed OS is corrupted, so far nothing. I don't really experience any errors within Windows nor with other games, just BioShock Infinite.
It really stopped working after I installed an SSD and kept it on the hard drive. Of course, I wiped the drive and transferred the game files there. All other 10+ games installed on my D: (HDD) drive work perfectly fine and launch as expected.
Not really sure what the prolem is.
I, too, was baffled that it constantly download 8.2 MB over and over gain. I couldn't figure out the problem in the end and gave up.
Eventually, I fixed it and my solution was simple: reinstall Windows 10. I downloaded the latest ISO file from Microsoft, installed Windows, VOILA! Game runs smoothly again. I didn't have to uninstall any programs and all drivers were intact. Funny how a reinstall fixes things.
BioShock works just fine now. Ultra settings at 100+ FPS in 1080p.
If you have Windows 10 Pro, you can turn off getting any updates for windows 10 via the policy options.
Hey, do you was able to run it? I saw in your profile, you got some achievements of the game, after your post.
I have same problem, and I'm getting mad since 3 days to make this game run.
There was something wrong in my Windows profile permissions. Who knows why...
