This doesn't matter at all. It's still a bad button layout to put Sprint on the left joystick click and not allow it to be moved elsewhere. No matter what kind of game.
Example: You play a FPS shooter on PC with a KB/M, but somehow they don't allow you to rebind Crouch key so you are forced to use CTRL all the time. Maybe you don't want to use your pinky to crouch all the time, but this game doesn't allow you to. This is bad design, just like binding Sprint to left joystick click with no other possible options.
In the end, I will have to play with KB/M, because playing 10 minute feels like someone hit my left thumb with a hammer.
Options -> Keyboard/Mouse
I'm playing Fallout 4 right now and it's the same ♥♥♥♥: Left Stick Click is Sprint. You can customize it... BUT... if you put Sprint on anything else but the joystick clicks (left or right), you cannot Sprint in Workshop mode because some functions are hardcoded (you nazis).
No really, you, the guy who made it so putting Sprint on the joystick click became a mainstream trend, I HATE YOU. You are an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and deserve to get your left hand thumb smashed with a hammer.
