Betting but it folds, and lose money

I was going to raise in a game roughly 5,000 but while i was pushing in my chips, my cards also got pushed in. This cause the game to take my fold AND my 5k in chips. The chips did not go in the pot, they just stayed in the middle of the table and then disappeared.

LOL sorry. Its not funny but it is :)
There is a saying in poker. You have to protect your cards. If you accidentally push in on a real table, the dealer can take your cards expecting it to be mucked.
