In general with companies that have a small development team the focus is on things that bring in money, so in this case more items to buy in the store. It also can mean not rushing to fix issues that cost you in game currency as the less currency you have the more likely you are to buy it. I can't say for certain this is their focus, but the recent updates have been for new features or adding sporting events, with very few if any bug fixes or performance improvements. Those sadly take a backseat until it hurts the brand and they start losing players (though by then it is often too late).
I would submit another feature request to link/transfer and maybe if they get enough they will prioritize it. But in general to do that you would need a proper website to manage your account and link the associated third party account (ie. Oculus/Facebook, Steam, Sony, etc) and manage those connections. However, as the game doesn't have a real website that would be more challenging. The game has a very small and outdated footprint on the PokerStars website, though all links for help/support don't even mention the games existence. And contacting PokerStars support, eventually will forward over your request to LuckyVR, the games developer. However LuckyVR doesn't have a real website either. They have a very simple three page site (used to be more) built/hosted on SquareSpace, which isn't designed for that level of user control of account management. So it would be a large investment to build up an API for the database, and centralize all account data, while creating proper links. Which don't get me wrong, it would be great if they did it. But I think them making the game playable again should be a priority. But if they did something like this it would allow for cross platform friends lists and many other benefits, but I generally don't see it happening anytime soon.
Good luck!
