SORRY, POKERSTARS VR IS NOT ALLOWED IN YOUR JURISDICTION
I decided this was worthy of a discussion of its own. Is it a bug in the new update? Or is it just the way the game is now by design? I am located in US in the state of Oregon. Since the game is played with fake money, I don't think it matters. FYI this message shows up both on Steam and Oculus so it seems to be an issue with the game developer.

I have a hard time believing that they would ban free play in my location. I should be able to play the fake money games but the money games would be out of my jurisdiction. I sent an email asking the developer and have heard nothing yet.I have played free games on other sites that provided real cash games before. That was many years ago though.
I have been playing Poker VR on Oculus instead since the Pokerstars VR incident. Both games have pros and cons. For instance Poker VR will allow me to mute an individual player which is a very nice feature. The cards in Pokerstars VR are easier to read and are presented better. I read the new update features for Pokerstars VR and it says that you can mute the props. I was excited about that. No more endless slurping coconut drinks. Then I found out I couldn't play it any more. What a tease. Poker VR doesn't have all the props but that's ok. Sometimes they distracted players from playing in a timely manner. Pokerstars VR was a better VR experience however in Poker VR you don't have players standing in the middle of the table. They are stuck in their seats and players without Oculus don't even display any hands. Poker VR provides the option to purchase chips with real money $10,000 fake money for $2 real money with different prices for different amounts. where as I don't think Pokerstars VR did. Nothing good lasts forever I guess.

ARE THEY GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR ARE WE OUT OF LUCK

Just find a low cost VPN, install the software, then choose the location you want to 'appear from' within the software. Then you should be able to play the game. This is only for the message that states 'jurisdiction' when you try to log in.

I'm from the UK and using a vive and I'm getting the same problems with loading, my area has not got a problem with gambling laws so must be a bug in the game, wish the Devs would say someting!

I am having this too. I am not sure why they would do this. You don't get real money out of it, and in fact, you're not required to buy ANYTHING.

I have played this for a while before this problem. A lot of my money was won from the roulette table in the lobby. I have never bought a single chip.

I have bought some credits, but that is completely optional, and you earn those passively anyways! All you get are toys and clothes. I really don't see what is stopping them. O.o

Lol.2K is running a full on casino with basketball in it and advertising to kids and get away with it.

Poker stars should just have a user agreement signing that you're above the age of gambling in your state.

as long as you don't purchase anything on steam while using a VPN you should be fine

i've made multiple purchases on steam all while running a VPN, it's completely fine. only when you change your currency and use a VPN to spoof your location and purchase games in much more cheaper currency than typical USD/whatever equivalent can you cause an issue that'll get you banned
