Every time you press continue, put a coin in the piggy bank.
Now you have your arcade.
not cool, since he can break the piggy bank and get the coins. he should burn a note instead.
This would unironically teach you how much money you can save.
I try to recap:
1) We live in the 2019, in full digital era
2) I've bought this game for over 20 euros
3) my request is to add a very simple function (2 lines of code)
and your proposal is that:
4) I have to count the virtual coins by hand and I must strengthen my self-control?
I'd like to see this and DIP switch settings.
Arcade games are made so you'll put in as many coins/tokens as possible. That was how they were designed.
He specifically says "option." And yes, that is how they were designed but you had finite quarters, not infinite. He's not saying take away infinite coins from everybody else. He just wants the option to set how many continues. Arcades machines originally had DIP switches so you could set how many lives, difficulty, etc. Now that we aren't using quarters it makes sense to have an option to set how many continues you can have.
You would have to modify the code to limit the credits. Some of us don't want the games modified, we want them as they were in the arcade.
In the real arcade can you change the screen resolution, the number of lives, the level of the sound or the background image as you can do in this version?
If I want a near exact copy of the arcade game I play with MAME; if I buy a game like this, my exptectation that I can have full control over every aspect, coins included.
I simply ask for an other option. Is it so difficult to understand?
I surrender, enjoy your game with infinite coins. I keep playing with MAME, as this version offers very little more.
