NoodleManager/Custom songs hard broke the game

All I wanted was custom songs, so I did as I was supposed to and used Noodle Manager, selected a few songs, downloaded them. Hop in game; no sound for any songs. Quit, reload steamvr, etc. Verify integrity of game, nothing. Game is now loading a solid black screen.

Any ideas? I've done nothing I can see that would have broken the game, as it's from the the official site.

Sadly, full uninstall was necessary. The game works fine now. Anyone know how I can install custom songs/mods without this happening again?

There is an issue at the moment around custom songs giving an intermittent black screens (particularly in multiplayer, but I just heard today it affects playlists as well), and update to fix this was pushed today. Doesn't sound like it's related to your particular issue, though! If that happens again, remove your SynthDB file (this is a database which caches custom song information) and try starting the game again.

It’s been 3 years so I hope NoodleManagerX is now optimized for SynthRider.

I was wondering how you got it to work with SteamVR. I recently bought it but can’t figure out how to get NoodleManager to work…. Do you have a walk through?

The app isn’t detecting my quest and I don’t have a custom songs folder.

Any suggestions?

noodlemanager is just an app that downloads the song into the custom folder in your synth riders directory. if it doesn't work for you can also download them from the website and move/save them there manually.
