Video Card Problem with BioShock 2
When I start the game get the following message:

"The video card in this computer does not meet the minimum video requirements for this game...Playing the game on this hardware is COMPLETELY UNSUPPORTED, UNSTABLE, AND NOT RECOMMENDED. Do you wish to Continue anyway."

And the mouse is frozen, it is necessary to press: Ctrl+Alt+Delete for can move again the mouse, If I press Yes, I can enter to the game.

But, why I have this problem if my computer has a 2GB video card?. Please, someone help me...

I already updated the drivers of the video card but the problem continues.

Care to be more specific? What operating system and what kind of graphic cards may get you more help.

You could try, Right click Bioshock 2 in your library and select properties. Click launch options. Type -dx9 (including the -). This will force it to run in DirectX 9, and it should work. This may or may not work, the problem is windows 8 is so new.

I have exactly the same problem. I've tried the -dx9 solution, but it doesn't work. Is there anything else we can try?

PS: I'm playing on Windows 7

have this problem as well, and in truth I disagree with it as the time I was able to click yes the game played perfectly fine

I have windows 7, the same graphics card as raddatz^ and the same problem. I get the same message, but the game won't start up. I did the -dx9 and still can't play.

ctrl+alt+esc and press yes to the warning message lol stupid it says it to me and im running intel hd 4000 with an i5 processor and 8gb of ram and it runs in 30fps on full graphics you just have to ignore the message until steam sorts it out until then dont worry about it

I received the same message "The video card in this computer does not meet the minimum video requirements for this game......". I ignored this message and started the game for the first time. The graphics during the beginning credits are not good. How to say, when the sequences were finished some glitches remained on my screen. Windows 8.1, i7, 4GB graphics, etc.. I exited the game and checked this current page.

I had the same problem and what i did was turn off steam overlay, dim the graphic settings down and quick save pretty often and from there i did well

i fixed this problem by upgrading my graphics driver, uncle google will tell you how

As Big Daddy said update your GPU drivers, that usually fixes most problems.

Setting Steam\steamapps\common\BioShock 2\SP\Builds\Binaries\Bioshock2.exe 'Run as administrator' fixed this issue for me
