securom launcher has stopped working
Trying to fun Bioshock 2 but this message popped up: "securom launcher has stopped working". I searched google and people seem to have this issue with another game, think it was GTA.. some had the issue due to windows 9 beta. I don't have that installed. Anyone have any other solutions how I can get the game to run without that securom error pop up?

do you use an anti virus app? does the game have sp & mp modes to launch from steam?

well there is always that one route to go if you cant get it to start normally & you will still use your legit key+gfwl account

I don't think it has anything to do with the AV app. I tried launching it without the AV on. There is the MP and SP folder, none of which works.. Soon as you try to launch the game with Bioshock2Launcher.exe on either MP or SP mode it will pop up with the window "SecuROM Launcher has stopped working" I have a feeling it has to go through some authenticating program.

I also had this issue on win8 pro x64: the launcher crashed instantly, nothing showed up on screen. Now I finally solved it:
I removed the securom folder HKCU/Software/DSS from registry (and made a backup before that). Then I removed Avast antivirus, rebooted and the launcher finally started, so I could start activating the game. To see if it works, I imported back the registry backup and reinstalled Avast, and rebooted. The game still works.
I don't know what made that securom ##@ work, the registry delete or the antivirus removal, or both.
I found this solution in the Fable forum.
