Is Bioshock 2 worth it?
I'm planning on playing Bioshock 1 and Infinite, but I was wondering if this one is worth the time and money considering it's made by a different team and expanding upon places and themes borrowed from the first one.

I just played it, and found it pretty serviceable. It lacks amazing moments that made the first game great, but other than that, it's pretty much more of the same.

Yeah, it's worth a quick playthrough.

I WOULD say it is worth it, except for one HUGE problem.

It is well worth it, and Greg I don't know what you are talking about because it has many amazing moments, like the first time the Big Sister floods the room and (SPOILERS) when your entitled little sister is killed, and also the ending.

This game is not bad, but it is no Bioshock. The tension and the suspence you had in the original game came largely from the amazing sound design and the dark gloomy feel.
The city is still the same in Bioshock2 but it's lit and not as intimidating. There are cutscenes EVERYWHERE which kills the suspence. There are grandiouse moment and amazing graphics which also, murder the feeling of subtle tension Bioshock.
This is a lukewarm experience. Like someone mimicing Bioshock without understanding what made the game so great.

Also, GFWL.
If you love the series and MUST play it, enjoy it. If not, replay the original or go for Infinite. Either is much better than this.
It's a good game for what it is, but the port is pretty abysmal. I had a lot of audio issues, namely no audio after the intro videos and a lot of audio cutting out when there's too much action going on. Also, rebinding keys makes important tasks in the game unusable, such as hacking or harvesting/saving Little Sisters. Overall, it's a good game as long as you can get past the wonky default keybindings and find the fix for audio issues. A quick Google search should help with the second part.
