Save Game bug Work around

As it was told, it seems that quick saving can occasionally get corrupted, and make the game unplayable. Unplayable to the extent that once you restart the game, it crashes after all those bik videos. Then you go on the forums out there, and you're practically told to start all over again. For me, I've already invested close to 9 hours (broken up naturally. Over a month.) before this bug reared it's ugly had towards me. So I was pretty much in a, save it, or ditch it situation, as I was unwilling to go through another 9 hours, just to get to where I am now.

1. Go to: C:\Users\name\Documents\Bioshock2\SaveGames
2. Delete any .bsb files that looks to be below 1MB.
3. Start Bioshock 2 to find that it works.

Obviously, this is not a full fix, and only serves to make the game playable again without losing all your progress. It's almost practically inevitable that you will lose some progress. But it's certainly better than the alternative of starting all over again.

You can be pretty ruthless. I deleted a qs9.bsh, qs9.bsb, AUTOSAVEusername.bsb, and a regular save file from November. It's likely I didn't have to delete all of them, but at least it works now.

All we can do now is pray and wait for 2K to do something about this. Oh wait. The company dissolved. Well, I guess we'll have to cope.

You are not alone in this mess. I am one of the fortunate ones who didn't get ingame crashes, just the occasional black screen at startup.
Thanks for posting another possible workaround.
BS2 is a wonderfull game, it just hurts to see what they did to it, removing GFWL and tossing it quickly on steam without any reaction to bugs and crashes from people who buy this. It really hurts.
