Is Against All Odds glitched?

Just finished the game and I didn't get this one. I started the game on Hard and never changed it to anything else so I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else here.

This is one of the 3 (I think) achievs I missed, but it's the only one I DID deserve! If I'd known about that stupid 9 Irony one and if I'd finished the Thuggish Splicer research (didn't know they stopped showing up after Pauper's Drop) I'd have them all - Oh well!

I just got this today. For some reason even though I selected 'hard' in the beginning, when I was in game, the game options said medium and I changed it to hard. Double check that the game was actually on hard difficulty and that it was set that way from the beginning.

b1 had this annoying thing where all settings would default when you change your default audio device so maybe that happened.

Just checked again and indeed my settings were set to Hard. So odd... :-/

I really don't want to play another playthrough and then not get the achievement yet agan. That would madden me so much! But perhaps it's the only way... I dug up an old thread and found that I'm not the first this has happened to. What I'll try next is to play from my last save till the end again and see if I get the achievement that way. Not holding my breath, but I'll give it a shot.

i can guess what it is, set all the .ini files in the appdata area to read only. a post said when the game crashes it defaults to medium

Where is the appdata area? Steam>steamapps>SP>Builds>Binaries? Those inis?

I'm reading this guide and it didn't work when I reloaded my last save, which I believe was set to Hard. Does he mean create a new game and then do tthe steps he mentions and replay the whole game? Makes no sense to me because he says you don't have to do it every time you play so in the event of a crash that would reset it to Medium, wouldn't it?

go to C>users>youraccount that you play on>appdata>bioshock2

make sure you have hidden files set to show and file extensions

OK. Done. Will this prevent difficulty settings from reverting back to Medium if the game crashes? Now I should start a new one, right?

well that was just a guess, it'll only work if there the difficulty setting is kept which is possible. you can test this by changing it to easy, exiting the game, and loading it up to see if it reverted back to what it was before you set it to easy.

Happens me too, i am ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mad right now. Not wanting to redo this. I even didnt receive "dont use vitachambers" too while it was disabled from beginning.
