Game crashes on pressing continue

As the title say, i open up the game and gets to the menu, whenever i press continue, the game just closes and no error message or anything appears, anyone experienced this issue before?

It also happens whenever i try to load a save from the load menu

Try verifying that your game's installation isn't damaged. Find Bioshock 2 in your Steam library, right click it, click Properties. Then under the "Local Files" tab, click "verify integrity of game cache".
If that doesn't fix the problem, try looking on the internet for a Bioshock 2 save file someone has uploaded. Download it, throw it in your C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Bioshock2\SaveGames folder, and try loading it.
If that doesn't fix it, try reinstalling.

I've experienced almost the same problem when I took the train to the 4th level...It was a problem in the sound settings (maybe prologic audio), try to set the audio mode on default, it worked for me

How far have you gotten into the game?
If you start a new game, can you load any of your saves?

I started a new game, and i was able to load that one, but now it seems to crash when i exit to the main menu.... this is messed up :p guess i'll never get the chance to finish this game

Nope, it still crashes upon loading my old save. Was about 8 hours in, don't really feel like replaying 8 hours again in case it just happens again =/

Having the same problem . Only started happening recently and Iam well 3/4+ into the game and nothing in my rig has changed (drivers /etc) . Wierd that it just started for no reason like many others . Going to try using DX9 vs DX10 (in the game menu) and see what happens . As a last resort maybe a re-install . Report back ..

*EDIT . Ok , doing the: set launch options and inputing -dx9 ; WORKED !!! ( doing the dx9 change thing in the games menu does not) . Anyway ...Thx Denis :D
