Minerva's Den worth it?
This DLC costs as much as Bioshock and Bioshock 2 do individually...and they are complete games. Is that DLC really that good, or should I skip it?

I am on a budget is why I ask.

I bought it in the sale and just finished and I think it really depends on the person. It is a fairly strong new story (I'd say better than the base game personally), but besides that it is really just 2 large new single player areas to explore and one smaller final level. If you want more Bioshock 2 then go ahead, it is a decent deal, but by Steam's grand standards not great

Appreciate the information. The idea that it's that short kinda tells me I will pass. I can get an entire RPG for the $5...so, meh. LOL

It's good add-on content, though. Very fun, if you enjoyed Bioshock 2. Grab it on sale if you can, but play it. Way better than Infinite DLC.

I have no idea where this idea that a DLC needs to be long comes from. Minerva's is pretty good, it's not a short 2 hour thing like the other dude made it seem.

Sorry brah, Burial at Sea had some cool stuff, i loved going back to Rapture, but they sucked. There was barely any combat in BaS1 and 2...the story was ♥♥♥♥.

Well, it's that I feel if I bought the game for $5, and the DLC is $5 then it better be decent to be worth the money. I did say that I'm on a budget.

I was literally coming to ask the same thing. I am surprised the full games are 75% off, but the DLC is only 50% off. To get the DLC for the same as the full game is a bit much. I was hoping for 75% off the entire Bioshock franchise, including the DLC. I am on a budget too, especially after buying and gifting many other games during this sale.

Yeah, my feelings as well. I think I will pass on any DLC's that are overpriced. I got Assassin's Creed 3 as well, but the DLC's cost $7.49, while the game is only $5....ridiculous. I will just budget and get the most bang for my buck. Your not alone in this economy. :D

Dude, you totally should get it. :) It's the best DLC that I've ever played, and most people who play it also agree it's story is even better then BioShock 2's. It's shorter then a normal BioShock game, but it's not at all short. I completely understand if you're on a budget right now, but it's really a must play for any BioShock fan.

BaS E2 was awesome, but I've heard great things about "Minerva's Den".

Definitely worth playing for series fans, as I remember the DLC release seemed to be where the writers unloaded some of the sweet ideas/stories that didn't fit into the main storyline. Just more space for details that are unnecessary to advancing the story but do a fantastic job painting a more complete and complex picture of what the city of Rapture is.

Minerva's Den and Burial at Sea E2 have been my favorite moments in the franchise since first beating the original Bioshock. Big fan of all the games, these DLCs just left the biggest impact on me.

That being said, I don't know why this hasn't gone any more than 50% off when everything else Bioshock did. Absolutely worth the buy but I don't blame anyone for being turned off to paying the same as for the main game, seems kinda silly.
