Big Sister Question

I'm playing this game again on the hardest skill level this time through. I seriously remember fighting more big sisters the last time through. For instance, I can remember fighting a big sister in the area where the the camera and the fish bowl diner are, and then in skid row as well.

This time through on the hard skill level, I do not face a big sister in the skid row area, due to there only being two little sisters to harvest in these areas. It's not a big deal, but not having any little sisters to harvest in the skid row area sure makes that area less important and leaves a lot of loot unusable. Kind of a waste to me. Am I missing something? Is the game glitching, or are there just less little sisters to harvest on the hard skill level? Either way, something is not adding up. I'm almost thinking the game is glitching.

When you're in the start menu, you can see at the bottom the number of sister on your actual level (and what you did with them)
Big sisters only appear when you harvest every little sister of the level
If you can't find the little sister, find a neutral protector alone, and follow him until he get to a aeration vent, he'll hit the vent until a sister come out or go to another vent (i had an extra sister once, it was a bug)
maybe you already know all of this, but i hope it'll help

Thanks. I think I know what the issue is now. There are more harvest bodies in thoses areas, than the 2 sisters you get. I depends on which you choose and when. Notice to all though in the "camera" pick up area... there seems to be a secrect location in the area of the camera. The only way it is accessed, is when facing a big sister in that spot and getting killed. You revive in a chamber that is a one way secret room, with a safe in it. Heads up !!

yeah, where you find the camera... if you die in there during your fight with the big sister... You will spawn in a secret room in that building. I don't see any other way of getting in there. I suspect there are more secret rooms like it too. Which makes turning off those chambers to get the achievement a toss up. Meh...

i have to redo bioshock 2 then, but i've played it again and again and again back on 360 >_>
I just play the multiplayer on PC
And you you don't have to do that on maximum difficulty, it feel dumb when as a protecctor you take 3 bullet and almost die
but hey, i'm not an achievement hunter so what do i know ^^

It seems weird that dying while fighting the big sister is the only way to a secret room. The chambers are activated by proximity, so I don't think you'd need the Big Sister to kill you. I was thinking the devs weren't that creative with secrets, but the teleportation plasmid exists, so I guess it's possible there's a death warp related secret.

the door on the inside of the room is one way it seems. it can only be opened from the inside and has a push button switch to activate it. it's just a solid wall on the otherside. I discovered it quite by mistake. Dying in the correct spot, if you will.
