Brute Splicer not letting me research him

This is a really weird one. I'm at the part where you have to take a picture of the Brute Splicer and then kill him, but the game won't let me do this. First time around, I accidentally killed him before getting the camera. Unsurprisingly, taking a photo of his corpse didn't work.

So I reloaded the game, but even if I just run past him (not even shooting him once), he just disappears completely by the time I get to the camera.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestions for what I can do differently to make it work?

I did this also, but it's not a problem. There are others that spawn in the level, just explore a while, do the Adam farming and collectibles or whatever. You'll run into one before long, especially given how completely ridiculous the rate of enemy respawning is in this game.

Thanks for responding. Yeah, I found one in a different area as well. But since then I ran into the problem of the game crashing left and right and had to stop playing anyway.
