Too slow
How on earth do people stand how slow this guy moves. I feel like I'm still imersed in the water every time I move. It is driving me bonkers.

There are mechanics that are simply too bad to get used to, but this isn't one of them. I promise you that you will get used to it before you know it.

But....if you want to get a free increase in your apparent movement speed, increase your Field of View. The higher the FOV, the faster it seems like you are moving. That's why in many console games, when you run the FOV widens out temporarily--because it makes you think you are running faster than you actually are. The 360 and PS3 especially had trouble rendering if the camera moved too fast, so that was a handy trick.

I am playing BioShock 2 about 24" away from a 55" screen, so I had to increase my FOV to 120. I still wish I could run, but I don't have a problem--the environments are claustrophobic for the most part.

Go into the User.ini file. In Windows 7, it's in Users \ [Username] \ AppData \ Roaming \ Bioshock2Steam \. Go to the second section, labeled '[Default]'.

If you are using WASD for movement, you will add a space, followed by '|', another space, and then 'SetFOV x', where x is your desired FOV. So for example, 'A=StrafeLeft | SetFOV x', 'D=StrafeLeft | SetFOV x', etc.

In this way, your FOV will automatically be set when you move. Your FOV will be saved with your game, but if you use a weapon zoom, you will have to move to reset it.
