FAQ
Below is a list of frequently asked questions related to Robot Rumble 2.0. The game is still in active development by a small yet dedicated team and as such, there is likely to be bugs, glitches, or inconsistencies.

Before we begin, we would like to say a massive thank you for supporting RR2 and being a part of the growing community!

HOW DO I ADD ROBOTS INTO THE GAME?
For all operating systems:
If you are using a recent version of Robot Rumble 2.0 (Oct. 18th 2022 and newer), it will be accessible from the main menu of the game or from the Workshop.

If you are not using a recent version, the following methods should work:
1. Open Windows File Explorer and make sure 'Hidden Items' is check in the View tab;
2. Navigate to: %userprofile%\appdata\LocalLow\Nerd Island Studios LLC and find the 'Robots' folder.
3. Copy / cut / paste botfiles as you please!

For MacOS: your RR2 "Robots" folder is hidden. To go there, do the following:
1. In the finder, click the "Go" menu, and select "Go to Folder".
2. Type in ~/Library and press the return key.
3. Navigate to: Application Support > com.nerdislandstudios.robotrumble2 > Robots

WHERE DO I FIND BOTFILES? CAN I GET THE FILE FOR (robot name)?
On our Discord server we have a channel specifically for sharing botfiles, where you can feel free to grab any of the many community creations there and even upload your own! Be aware that some of the older ones may be incompatible with newer builds of the game as development progresses.

HOW DO I GET MORE ARENAS?
On our Discord server we have a channel specifically for sharing Arenas!

If you would like to make your own, you will need to use the Arena Modding Tool (AMT). The AMT is a tool in which you are able to build and import your own arenas into the game. AMT is currently in development, and is available from the tools-and-mods section in our Discord.

WHY IS THERE NO DAMAGE FOR (weapon)? WHAT WILL DAMAGE BE LIKE?
As the game is in active development by a small team, it can take time to fine tune things that need to be done before certain features are implemented. Currently, the game only supports damage from spinners and arms (this includes flippers, lifters and hammers).

The planned damage system will support all weapons and see parts of robots flying off and individual damage to components and the effects that would have on a robot. There are no plans for crumpling mesh deformation however.

HOW DO I BUILD A ROBOT?
Building a robot can be as simple or as complicated as you'd like it to be. Essential components a robot needs to drive are an RC Receiver, batteries, motors, ESCs. and wheels wired correctly in the “Control” tab of the Botlab. If you have any more questions, you can ask for help in support channel in our Discord.

WHY ARE MY ROBOTS FALLING APART?
Chances are, you are using a robot that is not made for a newer build of the game. In July 2021, the game introduced the weld system. With that system, every single part must be physically attached to another part, otherwise it will fall off.

The easiest fix to this problem is to take a cube, place it on the chassis (make sure it physically touches the chassis), make it super thin (so it ends up looking like a sheet), place it over the hovering part, and give it a material that is not Decoration, Vinyl or Faux Fur.
