Interrogation/Observation room corridor - game crash

So, I'm playing 2 campaign as Leon, and when I try to go down the stairs (near police chief office) to corridor leading to observation and interrogation rooms game stops displaying graphics properly. The screen freezes, however game still works (I can open inventory for example). When I try reloading the same frozen moment is displayed, even when I quit to menu.

I know it's been a while since you asked but, just in case others stumble in here, I think that this is what fixed mine:
Go to the RE2 install folder, open re2config.ini, change "UseVendorExtension" to disable. I haven't run into any problems since. I also switched back to DirectX12 when I made this adjustment.

Bruh you are a GENIUS! Fixed the issue for me as well thank you! I was going nuts trying to trouble shoot this...
