Resolved: How to fix RESIDENT EVIL 2 if it does not launch
Download and install Visual Studio 2017 (vc_redist.x86.exe and vc_redist.x64.exe) from https://support.microsoft.com/de-at/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Thank you - I was trying all sorts of suggestions and installing Visual Studio 2017 did it for me. Now works fine! I am on W10 x64 so I only installed 'x64: vc_redist.x64.exe' @ https://support.microsoft.com/de-at/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads. Hope this helps others!

Doesn't work for me. black screen pops up for a second or so when I start the game then it disappears and nothing else happens.

Any other suggestions?
