To anyone who wants to revert their game to have raytracing again. Make a shortcut to steam.exe then add -console to the shortcut path for most people it would be this "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe" -console
make sure you close out of steam completely then use the shortcut to open steam. Next to your username you should see console. Click on that, then enter "download_depot 883710 883715 4596656973454619188" but without the parenthesis. that will download the game as it was and after some time in the console it will say it was downloaded somewhere like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_883710\depot_883715" Now delete or backup the contents of your Resident Evil 2 folder, do not change the folder name or location just empty it out then copy the contents from your new download and you are golden. If you did the hd mod then you will have to reapply it but doing this will be like steam never did the update even the steam still thinks it's still the new update so it's not gonna force it again.

For RE3 do the same thing but instead enter "download_depot 952060 952062 7305189131432908184" into the console. Once again without parenthesis.

It looks like they reverted to the DX11 branch by accident.

Someone screwed up The beta tab shows what we got. I think they mixed them up. I hope someone told them.

Yeah it's gone. I don't know what they are doing

Yes, dx12 version lost RT options.

I don't know what is happening, because it's definitely not dx11 version, since it works in dx12 and does not have DirectX version selection option.

And it all happens right after they announced that there will be no further updates for old version, not changes in a new one.

I know the DX12 folder and files are there but the options are all gone in the menus

Capcom devs learning how to code challenge.

The more Capcom promises to improve their quality control on PC, the worse it gets...

RE4 on consoles just got a patch that greatly improved performance and image quality, while PC got a mercenaries mode with downgraded visuals and broken shadow rendering. It also performs worse than it did at launch...

Yes, that is what I'm saying. If you revert to old dx11+dx12 without ray tracing it works as expected and API version selection is available.

So it's not that they uploaded older version instead of a current, they broke (well, damaged?) the current version.

Don't worry. They'll probably fix it in 6 months, knowing Capcom...

Does anyone know if there's a way to force it on with the files or something like that?
I really hate the SSR implementation on this game.

And it's not even good RT.

Not only is RT gone, but the 3D audio has been reverted back to the old "Real-time Binaural". Who knows what else they done goofed on. :steamfacepalm:

That second one is a good change, tbh.

The 3d audio implementation was functionally broken. Binaural is substantially better for headphones.
