RT vs Beta?
Downloading the beta is going to take way longer than I would like, I wanted to replay it with some mods. Many (most I think) mods are no bueno with the RT version

Is the ray tracing so good an improvement its worth it over the mods?

I don't know how that could be. That said, a lot of mods aren't updated for the latest version. At least yiu can play City of the Dead, or the 3rd person mod. Someone is making a randomizer too. If all of that costs us rt, so be it.

I dunno how it works either but its mentioned frequently on nexus and the mod manager warns if it pretty sternly. The couple I tried wouldnt work at all with the regular release.

I did eventually wind up trying them with the betas and they work but since doing rt or beta requires a redownload forneither one i cant exactly a/b it myself, easily,

Anyone really notice a difference between the two releases?

Without rt enabled, they're mostly the same.

The point of the rt version is the rt un-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the screen space reflections that are always so horrible in RE Engine.

The RT is a major improvement in the lighting, but otherwise there's essentially no reason to use the DX12 version. Even with RT disabled and all settings the same, the DX12 version runs worse. I use the DX12 version only because my PC is so far above the necessary specs it doesn't matter, I don't use any mods, and the RT does look good.

Good enough to not run mods?

Yhe beta?

Yeah it runs the mods perfectly.

The current version doesnt run any of them, not even the cosmetic outfit ones.

Objectively incorrect.

You just need different mods depending on which build you're using because the data files are in different formats.

No 100% of every mod i was using do not run with the current version. This is as simple as I can make it. On one version all the mods work, on the other they dont. Its as simple as that.

Im certain someone made some mods that do. Context clues are king here friend.

In other words: You were trying mods for the wrong version.

This isn't complicated.

As an example:
https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil22019/mods/1639

This is for the RT version.

If mods for the RT version aren't working for you, you've likely messed up the install process. And along those lines, probably didn't do a clean install when switching from dx12 to dx11 non rt.

Noooooo

its very simply that many mods work for one and not the other.

Nooooo

As the post above clearly says I already know many mods are no good with the RT version,

Obviously, as the rest of the conversation clearly shows, I tested this to make sure it was an accurate statement and those mods in fact do not work with the RT vertsion.

This is all just very basic human conversation, I can't tell if you're being aloof on purpose or not, but this is all laid out already and I think you are just arguing to argue, because you're bored.

The whole point of this thread was to ask is the RT version so good, and worth it, compared to the beta, that it makes those mods not working, worth it. This was a thread to ask about people's tastes and opinions on one over the other. This isn't a big mystery here.

I know you are capable of understanding this, you must just be being difficult on purpose.

I explained why that is.

Ok you're just being an infant now.

I literally explained the issue.

The dx11 and dx12 versions of the game use different versions of the engine that use different data files in different formats in a different directory structure.

The models, textures and other things within those files are in different formats.

Mods work fine with the dx12 version. You just need separate mods for each version unless a modder includes both in the file.

All of this makes this claim:
