Why are there so many gooners posting stuff in artwork?

Neither the developer nor publisher pays attention to the forums. Moderation is handled by valve and they're not going to forward complaints to capcom.

Look, I think that nude mods for every damn game is a bit silly too, but you know what I do instead of complaining? I don't use the content. Likely we have nude mods for games since the early 1990s....before I was even born.

Now this is an 18+ game so I do not care.

There is an option where YOU can filter screenshots or even games with certain themes.

So as a Steam user, you can"hide" the vast majority of the content you do not want to see.

It's because they are soft locked to virginity and surround themselves with the boobs and vagina they dont get in daily life, everywhere else. It is used as a coping mechanism to the unconscious thought that while boobs and vagina are everywhere in the world, they arent where they are... so they post art, weeb out on anime, and goon to furries. Before they know it, their unconsciously chosen lifestyle has had the detrimental effect of repelling vagina, and they fall into a never ending cycle of thirst posts, and cringe snapchats wearing black dusters and expertly checking the balance of replica katanas in pawn shops.

I have everything checked in the settings for hiding NSFW content, it hides nothing for me. And I am not going to exclude myself from viewing content just because people can't control their addictions.

Sexual mods and artworks existing is not the problem. That stuff has existed and will exist as long as people exist because addiction is part of human nature. As long as people engage in such behavior in their own private space they aren't affecting anyone else.

18+ has nothing to do with it either. Sexual content doesn't exist in Disney movies not because kids will suffer from PTSD when seeing a naked/half-naked person. Pretty sure every kid has seen their parent/s naked at some point. Seeing nudity is not the point at all. The point is that it’s inappropriate because sexual content belongs in a sexual context. It's that simple.

We also wouldn't put sexual content in Disney movies and tell a billion kids "just don't watch it if it bothers you" or "just look away/close your eyes if something sexual comes on". It has no business being there in the first place.

People who want to be sexually stimulated outside of a sexual context are sick. And they are clogging up and littering the platform with their behavior because they are completely desensitized to what's appropriate and what isn't. Game hubs are for sharing content related to gaming, not to sexual activity.

But hearing about other game hubs (Bioshock Infinite) taking this more seriously gives me hope.

You should tone that hope down then; Bioshock infinite artwork section was locked due to other heavy political/racist stuff from the game themes instead of gooning, despite Elizabeth being a hot thing back in the day;

Maybe it was, maybe not, unless you have hard evidence for why it was removed. In 2013 during an AMA on Reddit with Ken Levine he said "Seriously, whoever is doing the Elizabeth porn on deviantart, please stop it. You're killing me" and that he'd "die a little inside" and that it was "like coming across a picture of your daughter." Of course that doesn't proof that he had any connection to what happened on Steam, but it could be connected.

"A hot thing" It's literally just a normal female. Wearing one a bit more revealing dress at one point. How does it warrant such obsessing over her sexual appeal? Actually it doesn't matter because any female will get more or less the same treatment by perverts online. Doesn't matter what they are wearing.

If you see any gooner arts on the community tab or on people's profiles report it to steam and they will most of the time take it down. I have reported before and they have been taken down. It's honestly disgusting because the men that make these artworks objectify women and see them as nothing but objects they can use and abuse. If they do this to fictional women they will 100% do it to real life women to, disgusting.

The term "Gooner" is relatively new and you using it tells me you're a young guy. I applaud you guys for reporting that content but to answer your question (As an older guy who saw all that "Gooner" stuff since the beginning) It was almost like a cultural thing in the pc community. Now they have high quality images but I remember seeing artwork like that almost immediately when I got my first pc and that was back in the early 2000's. That addiction was always there.

while i am almost 19 being older doesn't mean you can't use newer terms, it just slipped into my vocabulary as it's more common to hear the term gooner than porn addict. Still i know that people used to lose their minds at lara croft back in the ps2 era if i remember correctly. That's not what bothers me, it's that people post borderline nsfw artwork with very sexual mods. As someone already said even though the game is meant for 18+ audiences it's not because it's sexual but because of the gore and violence there are also games exclusively made for sexual purposes and this isn't one of them.
