My memory isn't too clear on this game - did you have to pick up any batteries here?
If so that'll be why!
A lot of times item boxes are put in case you need to progress without going far back (or if you won't be able to go back after a certain point)
but I could be wrong!

It doesn't make sense, there's a safe room with another one when you enter the Nest/Lab. It's there for no purpose.
You tell me man, I just work here.

Hehe, this mystery must be solved!

Yep, and there's no reason to even come back to that area.

Nope nothing is needed. Just have to carry Sherry to the med room. The main door opens by itself.

That's so weird :theskull:

That box is there to not get you locked if you have full inventory and can't get the ID bracelet from Ada into your inventory on Leon Scenario:

The Bracelet with the code spawns on the table, and the chest is there for you to reorganize your inventory with Leon for space for the bracelet to open the Nest door.

Something similar can happen on Claire scenario iirc despite you carrying Sherry around or it's after it, but it's been a while since i played and i don't remember it anymore.

Go figure that part out.

It's been a while since I played Leon's scenario. I don't remember that. Thanks for the answer.
As for Claire's scenario, it's not so. If your inventory is maxed, the bracelet is simply left on the table or bed beside Sherry. For Leon, it may indeed be the case.
It's not necessarily the part where you carry her, like i said been a while.

Leon one i'm 90% sure though.

Could also be just the devs being lazy/oversight in removing it on Claire Scenario too.

Capcom teams are well known for their sleazy QA's.

My search online reveals Claire's scenario with the key being available in Sherry's room if your inventory is full on the tram.

Not sure how not removing it is lazy. There's no reason to make the map inconsistent.
