All RE engine games having massive lag spikes?
As the title says. I've noticed massive lag spikes with re2/3 remake, 7, village and even DMC5. I've played all these games at launch with no framerate issues But now as of late, every game has the same symptom. About every 30 seconds the game's framerate will tank to as low as 30 for a second. I know most will say that the game is loading a new area but ever since launch they have never gone that low. Only drop maybe 2-4 frames but never 20+ . This issue has started happening recently and I've done pretty much all I can to fix it but nothing has worked. Starting to think either an update has done something to the RE engine or the latest graphic drivers is to blame. Anyone else having these issues?

Or, crazy idea, simply go back to an older version. Go and make yourself an install USB of 1909 or 2004 and use that. Try it on a separate partition or other drive first, to see if it actually fixes the RE stutters. Wouldn't wanna redo your main install and then find out it did nothing to resolve the issue.
OK! So after 2 days of mind numbing troubleshooting, I think I found the issue. My wi-fi adapter seems to be causing these lag spikes, which is still weird because I've never had this issue before so i'm still assuming the latest windows update did something with the wifi. So I disconnected from wi-fi and lagging has stopped. Apparently this is a big issue with wi-fi adapters so i'm going to try and update/rollback drivers for it and see what happens. Appreciate the suggestions.
Oh dang, crazy tbh. Glad it seems to be fixed now though. You might wanna mark your post as answer, for other people to find it more easily, if they have the same issue.

I had spikes on REsis a few days ago, but I think it was due to too high texture settings, that game's optimization isn't very good. RE8 runs fine. I'd check your settings and make sure nothing's wrong i.e. wrong render scale or exceedingly high VRAM usage.

You can also try DDU and install an older driver for your card. Btw, disable your auto-updates. They're not needed and will most likely just mess something up. Manually update once a year or every 6 months if you really care. Same goes for Windows, not that Windows is to blame here I am sure, just a thing you should do. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Oh also, check your Windows page file, it might be too low.

This happened to me in RE6 with between 1-2 GB VRAM. The explosions and the mass build up of of enemies in The Mercenaries level of Urban Chaos Mercenaries Mode caused the visual feedback to become so great that the framerate had to drop to 60 fps allow the GPU to process it all. I had to lock my FPS to 60 to avoid further spikes in my FPS. Lower the screen resolution or the texture settings, or both, if a lot of things are happening in-game.

I tried DDU and did a clean install of the previous drivers aaaaand that didn't work. I honestly think I have it narrowed down to the lastest windows update. The only games (so far) I'm seeing these lag spikes in are all RE engine games and Mafia DE. Others I've tested ran fine, even 3d mark ran fine. When i look in task manager, nothing is reach 100% usage besides my gpu during Mafia, which i guess is normal since that game is sorta demanding. So at this point I guess I'll just have to wait for the next windows update...
