You can scoop up everything else right up until that moment. That means, when you use the valve, make sure to have the C4 in your inventory.
In the STARS office, there's a flashbang. Mix the battery with the C4, flashbang Mr.X and run to the library and up in the attic to quickly use the bomb. Using the bomb will block the library, so X will have to take a huge detour to reach you. After a lil minute, unlock the way back to library and go use the final medallion.
@maverick
no need for you to get it. Its my second playtrough and i was just surprised that he appeared that early (cause i entered the stars office prob too early) and to me it is annoying that he shows up that early.
Has nothing to do if its the game ive signed up for.
Without spoiling... if your second run is Claire he won't be as much of an issue. Also, you absolutely can run as you are significantly faster than him. Once you put a couple of rooms between you and him he will lose your trail and wonder off. The main thing is to have an idea of where other enemies are, and don't accidentally run into them while trying to avoid X.
i mean out of anything the enemies are exactly the problem with mr x. hes obviously meant appear and work like that as an suprise factor however this leads into a problem of you arent meant to kill everything using ammo sparingly. meaning apart from a few areas you wont kill them off
but this means you arent dealing with zombies that would be problimatic later because you think even on backtrack you can just ignore them but mr x shifts this prospective a bit
this became a problem for me on my first hard run (think i went claire first at that) due to the fact that the library has 3 zombies in there and i had to do everything in that room (remoe the jack and push all the shelves) and ofcourse shooting attracks mr x and on hard hes always lurcking near by this caused me a lot of annoying deaths (being on hard and all) guess im part for blame knowing full well mr x existed however the difference between his tracking between normal and hard is insane
If you have something to do like the library for example it is worth it to lead him to the opposite side of the building first and cycle back on another route and quietly walk to the library and you´ll have enough time to move the bookshelves around because he doesn´t know where you are.
As mentioned before get rid of lickers before he appears, they are easily cheesed by going to their side and knfing them.
OFC that there is a mod. I actually never played the game without it.

I agree.
Any idea why they put him in the game?
Well he does add tension, I think whether you like him in the game depends on what you enjoy about survival horror games. I tend to play as a 'clear' player in survival horror so I like to kill everything to make it safe and then explore and search the cleared areas thoroughly. I almost never use any healing items at all as I don't take risks and I eliminate enemies before they become a risk, but I use a ton of ammo. However I know there are a lot of people who play by running through areas to get through them quickly and don't fight many enemies. Mister X seems much more geared towards those players who play the game with constant tension normally by running through places quickly.
Personally I hate invincible enemies that chase you in survival horror games because I can't clear them, and so I never feel safe to explore or search areas. I'm not going to spend time exploring if I feel like I have a time limit. If I have an invincible enemy chasing me I don't feel like I'm really playing the game or enjoying it until that part is over and I can go back to what I enjoy about the game.
