If the remake of Re2r had been faithful to the original with the meshing stories, I think there'd be no question that the remake crushed it. However, I'm left to believe that the original stands on its own, because it can't be directly compared other than the graphics. The reason you may be saying the new one is better is simply because it's newer, and that's okay. But the graphics aren't going to supercede the original story for me. That actually pulls down Re2r, simply because it comes across as laziness, where it didn't have to be that way.
I still respect your perspective.
Edit
For me, I admit, it's emotinalism. I played the original when it was on two discs. I played it with a friend on a sleepover. This meant as we finished the game, there was more to experience. In this version of the game, there basically isn't. The b story is barely changed at all, so in effect, it feels like half of the game it should have been. That is why, when people think of it, they are quick to put the original on top, because half of Capcom's original effort is plainly missing. The poor quality of the actors/script doesn't change the fact that there half of the content cut.
He said that the REmake is supposedly impossible to complete in under 100 hours (yet he doesn't own the game), that people who liked RE5 are fake fans (and that the game is impossible to beat with the ammo available) and in here trash talk the ones who simply like the original ("I think thats just really big nostalgia talking for them and they cant accept that the remake is better").
Don't feed the troll, please.
Everything ran fine, then? By the way --- you should not have used the "HD" mods. For one, if you want to experience a game, you should experience the game and not an altered version. Second, these kind of "HD" mods pretty much never actually improve anything, and usually just the opposite.
also download the game form ,,Google the following: "Download Biohazard 2 Sourcenext Internet Archive"
Press enter and click on the first link that appears.'' This works 100%.
thx will try it out
Remake, while overall a good game, as a remake of RE2 failed quite badly. They didn't manage to recreate the biggest feature of og in the form of scenario system. They also butchered personalities and motivation of the characters. The new dialogue is sanitized and and voice acting is somehow worse than the original.
Other than that level design takes a note dive after the police station with NEST feeling unrealistic and too clean.

Here's a great analysis on why it fails.
I personally think the RE2R is a pretty good game, but I'm still having a hard time getting into it because of how the gameplay feels for me (I prefer more "tighter" controls) and how durable the zombies are. I know this last thing was made on purpose but I prefer when things don't survive 9 shots to the head lol.
