Turns out the game absolutely showers you with them and I had a stack and half sitting in the item box tho so no, you don't really have to worry that much.
Clearing a path of enemies and then saving is a good strategy.

Reasoning being imo the police station and sewer sections aren't that bad but G2 can still be annoying here and there and I'd be damned if I play half the game again because of a lucky swipe, same logic with doing the nest over again from a lucky swipe from g3 and one after because I'm still doodoo asschecks at fighting the super tyrant and I have a save left so might as well
