TLDR RE engine can't handle you going over your VRAM limit.
Capcom allowed us to roll back to the version before RT patch since it was a mess at release
Unfortunately the build is not 100% exact, as Ada's costume will have funny physics on some settings. But worth it for stability and better performance.
I just left the jail cells were the dude gets his head crushed and you meet a the, but every time I go up the stairs after doing the Morgan in the kennel, the game crashes, literally the exact same place every time
You can also try deleting re2_config and re2_config_default in the game directory. They will be recreated upon the next game launch.
Previously the game crashed during 5 minutes, even with RT off.
Now it's not crashing even on the orange stance, with RT and shadow cache ON.
The crash is caused by vram, not system ram.
Turn your damn settings down.
