I'm yet to play RE4, so for Capcom canon i'll roll with whatever you say. Just remember that it is not worth fighting for. Yes, this has to be said.
There was no defined right answer with the remake until RE4 remake came out showing Marvin in the intro.
+I found this from gamespot.com and spoiler from RE6:
"In Claire A, Sherry was infected with the G-Virus by Birkin in the sewers. Claire was able to make a vaccine for her towards the end of the game that cured Sherry before the G embryos pupate. Fast forward to RE6 where we see Sherry as an adult. Due to the antibodies from the G-Vaccine mixing with the G-Virus, Sherry now possesses regenerative abilities.
If you played Claire B though, Sherry does not get infected by Birkin in this scenario. So Claire A is definitely the canon storyline.
However, RE2R and RE4R may have their own different canon vs the original games.
I really like RE2R but it's a pity that the first and second runs are so similar like you encounter Mr.x on botht rounds when you entounter it in the original only on B runs.
If the remakes canon is like the original, it may be that both Leon and Claire met Marvin "pre-zombie" state.
Also, Claire gets better weapons.
