RE2's Remake Canon Order, What's your opinion?
In my opinion, Leon 1st Run and Claire 2nd Run is the canon order since in RE4's Remake the description of the Combat Knife talks about Marvin giving Leon the knife, Thing that only happens in the 1st Run.

For me is like with Knights of the Old Republic. Everyone can choose their canon. Whatever Capcom decide to do is their business. So for the original RE2 Leon A, Claire B. And for the remake Claire A, Leon B.

I'm yet to play RE4, so for Capcom canon i'll roll with whatever you say. Just remember that it is not worth fighting for. Yes, this has to be said.

I mean it's not up for debate the canon used by Capcom going forward was always Leon A and Claire B. Canon is the direction the creators chose/intended, and what is referenced in follow up games. So that's typicality what I go with.

"was always" may be overstating it a bit.

There was no defined right answer with the remake until RE4 remake came out showing Marvin in the intro.

In the original Resident Evil 2 it was Claire A and Leon B but in the remake it was sort of both(?)

+I found this from gamespot.com and spoiler from RE6:
"In Claire A, Sherry was infected with the G-Virus by Birkin in the sewers. Claire was able to make a vaccine for her towards the end of the game that cured Sherry before the G embryos pupate. Fast forward to RE6 where we see Sherry as an adult. Due to the antibodies from the G-Vaccine mixing with the G-Virus, Sherry now possesses regenerative abilities.

If you played Claire B though, Sherry does not get infected by Birkin in this scenario. So Claire A is definitely the canon storyline.

However, RE2R and RE4R may have their own different canon vs the original games.

I really like RE2R but it's a pity that the first and second runs are so similar like you encounter Mr.x on botht rounds when you entounter it in the original only on B runs.

As Larry said, in the original it was closer to Claire A / Leon B. So not always indeed. That said, i think it was like RE1 canon, it was a mix of both characters. That for the original timeline.

If the remakes canon is like the original, it may be that both Leon and Claire met Marvin "pre-zombie" state.

Canon? Not sure. Most enjoyable? Claire A. Her boss fight against Birkin outside the train is much better than super tyrant with Leon. Plus, I prefer Claire and Sherry over Leon and Ada.

Also, Claire gets better weapons.
