Never got to use the device in the nap room circuit breaker?

Hopefully this is right. I finished the East and then West and found the device in there somewhere. Never got to use it on the nap room I think it was called. I'm wondering what I missed. I overwrote my save so I would have to do about half the game to get back there.

I'm thinking I'm going to play Claire's story now and then play Leon 2nd run after that. But yeah, just wondering what I missed as I'm a bit of a completionist.
