I accidentally changed the difficulty

And now it's set to adaptive :/ I liked the challenge, but I was distracted when I died and didn't read what the prompt said.

Is there a way to change it back?

Adaptive? How did you accidentally change the difficulty? Unless you mean you started a new game, and chose what, hard-core or Normal? There's no mode called adaptive.

After a few deaths, you're given a prompt to lower the difficulty, and it defaults to 'Yes', so if one mashes through what is normally the Continue screen, they drop the difficulty.
