Ada's fate canon?
Mr. X "killing" Ada isn't canon anymore?

*SPOILERS*

Now no matter if you play Leon A or B, she always falls to her "death". While in the original game, she could fall in A or be killed by Mr.X in B, being this last one canon.

Not that any mention of how she was "killed" was made in the games that came after RE2 anyway, other than Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles that I remember.

As much as I adore this game, I feel as if we can't consider it canon and just continue to go with how the original went.

It was a shame it didn't happen but then again it's second run not B scenario 😎

If you played the Ghost Survivor (SPOILER ALERT)

The soldier's ending has him killed off by Ada when he was planning to use the tram to escape. Of all the three characters in the DLC, this one seems to be the only one that can be canon.

The Ghost Survivor DLCs aren't canon. They are "what if" stories.

Pretty sure on the original the side where she fell from the bridge was the canon story (think ORC covers that). So they simple got rid of some non canon events.

The fall death was -ALWAYS- the more canon "death." Because in the original, Claire A, Leon B was the true canon. In this case, they also go with the fall death which makes it canon for this game too.

Though regardless of how she "dies." Ada survives to throw the rocket launcher to Leon. The ghost survivors aren't canon though, disregard her robbing the soldier.

She didn't fall in Leon B. I am pretty sure that they consider the fall canon, just pointing that out. She "died" from Mr. X slamming her into something in B.

I know they aren't. My point is that of the three stories, the soldier is the only one that doesn't clash at all with the events of RE2. And no matter what you do, his ending is basically the same. He dies. It even shows how Ada got her hands on the G-Virus. I for one, would like that to be the official canon ending for the poor sod and a DLC of Ada Wong escaping Raccoon City.

No, I'm just an idiot and read that wrong. I haven't played that one yet and read it as the soldier killing Ada, not the other way around. 13 Hour work days fry the mind QUITE well. xD

The canon in the originals always was Claire-A Leon-B. Mr. X slamming Ada into a machine and Leon leaving her for dead. Repeating this story in Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside.

But that was only from Capcom employees words, since as I said, none other canon game ever touches the subject of how she was supposedly killed. You can see some scars on her on the RE3 Ada epilogue, but that could have been from either the fall or the Mr. X's attack.

Curious detail, in S.D. Perry novel "Resident Evil: City of the Dead" (Not canon but awsome) she goes with Leon-A Claire-B. There Ada falls.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that most people considered Leon A and Claire B canon for the longest time. It makes sense; Leon was disc 1 and Claire was disc 2. It wasn't until about three years ago someone told me the story changes and not just the route itself that I finally tried Claire A and Leon B and saw how much more sense it made.

Yeah, I always liked how when the momment came in Leon-B, Ada sacrifices even her mission to save him, it made Leon and Ada relationship in future games so much more powerful. I liked that more than the discussion in the bridge and then Anette interfering.

I also liked how in Umbrella Chronicles, Ada must gain Wesker's trust back by getting the G sample anyway, but now she's all beated up.

I didn't look too deep into it but a quick Google I kept seeing repeated claims Wesker revived her with a virus strand. No idea if it is actually accurate tho. She DID survive somehow tho, that is a fact. She was alive at the end and gave Leon a rocket launcher so she had to be alive, or a clone (doubt that tho).

Oh no, she totally survives "naturally" RE2 one might say. The Wesker part I'm talking about is in Umbrella Chronicles, where she's still in Raccoon City after RE2 and Wesker contacts her, telling her she failed him. She was working for him all RE2.
