My last HC run was 2:10:10 for Leon 2nd Scenario. No infinite/special weapons used, no first aid sprays. Any ideas what could be holding me back? I thought it was under 2 1/2 hrs and three saves or less?

2 hours is the limit for 2nd /B runs
2:30 for first/A runs

If your final save is at the labs with roughly 25 minutes left. you can still salvage your run

You went over the limit. Try it on the A scenario. The time limit is 2:30, and the only requirement other than no infinite weapons is that you can only have 3 saves, so use them wisely. I like to save before bosses.

You can:
use infinite knife
use any healing items as much as you want, including First Aid Sprays
save 0-3 times
and still get S+

It's under 2:30:00 for 1st scenarios, but under 2:00:00 for 2nd.

If you still have a save from the lab/sewers - load it and try to get to the end faster.

ahhhh, i see. I guess I was confused because I figured you'd still make S instaed of s+

A scenario is easier for the hardcore S+ rank, less zombies, item boxes in more convenient spots, Mr.X appears a little later.

With Leon you can skip the key in the morgue. The key only leads to the room with the portable safe in it, and all the "portable safe" stuff costs too much time and backtracking. You don´t need the bag from the lockers to beat hardcore. You can also skip the STARS office, but you don´t have to. My best time with Leon was 1:50 and I got the magnum. In the sewers skip the rooms for which ypu need the key. Don´t pick up the key. Killl zombies only if you have to run past them several times. Otherwise shoot them in their legs and run past. And learn the puzzles by heart-. In the lab you can open both rooms for which you need to enter a code right at the beginning if you memorize the codes. Good luck.

I'm having trouble with Claire B myself. I know if I don't grab all the weapons gunpowder I'm going to regret it later when i get to the train! I can't keep it under 2 freaking hours!!! I'm still trying to figure out what I don't need later, but the truth is, I need it all!!!

One advice, that might help you. Just collect the 3 medals as fast as possible and ignore anything else in the police station. Once you unlocked the underground passage you can trigger Mr X to dissapear by walking to the elevator. After that you can run back to collect the smg, grenade launcher and prepare the libary.
Without beeing the world biggest speedrunner you can unlock the underground passage in like 8-10 mins.

recommended that you do the A scenarios, they are a lot easier and S+ gives you the base 2:30 completion time rather than the B scenario 2:00 completion time.

you cannot use infinite ammo weapons from previous playthroughs of S ranks, since the game will automatically lock the outcome to S. however, you can use an infinite knife (which actually helps a lot when you're fighting G stage 1) you can heal as much as you want (idk who thought healing was supposed to be limited in S+ runs) however, you can only use 3 ink ribbons for saves and you must complete the entire game in under 2:30 (A) 2:00 (B)

it's also very important to know the route on where to go and how to do the puzzles. time will drain no matter what you do unless you pause the game, or when a cutscene is playing. item box, inventory, map, or the typical puzzles midgame will not stop time. pick up stuff you need and are essential and don't nit pick items that are going to waste your time. personally, i didn't pick up the extra hip pouch in the safety deposit room, 10 inventory slots was enough for me through my S+ runs.

it's also important to know where to use your three saves too, since you have to save mostly at boss fights. your first save won't be used for quite awhile until you are about to fight G stage 2, your second save should be used on G stage 3, and the final save will be used right after you fight super tyrant (leon) or G stage 4 (claire).

not sure if i missed anything essential. i'm sure you know all of this by now, but i just wanted to point it out. good luck on your S+ runs if you attempt them!

G5, the final boss, dies in like 5 knife slashes. You do almost no damage until the giant eye appears. Its basically a time waster, you have to wait like a good minute before hes even damagable
