Is there a dodge key
Seems when the Zombies get close they are going to lunge and grab you. Just wondering if theres a way to avoid it. And once they do grab you your going to get bit unless the occasional knife stab triggers.

I have avoided like 2 grabs in all my playthroughts. Not sure if it'`s random or you have to turn at some exact moment.

You can also bait the zombie, once he runs TWICE towards you he`ll stagger a bit and you can bypass him.

Theres no dodge button but theres dodge techniques. Bait, run back and do a quick U-turn. Works on every enemy (never tried on licker) except Birkin.

You dodge roll when you aim and shift.

Sprinting out of range is your dodge. You can use a defense item against any standing forward grab in the game, except for Leon's final A-run boss (although throwing a flashbang or grenade will stop it from activating) and the final boss of a B-run has a cinematic kill instead of a standard grab animation. Zombie grabs from behind or on different elevations can not be defended against, aside from dodging. A zombie with no arms can not perform most grab animations and is limited to a low damage headbutt under most circumstances; crawling zombies likewise tend to do a weaker ankle bite animation, and that's if you even let them catch you.

You'll meet a leafy enemy later on. You must use a defense item to save yourself from this enemy's grab or it will outright kill you.

There is a very rare animation when you're sprinting and a zombie grabs you from the side at the end of their lunge. If you press the direction away from them just as the grab lands, then you get an animation of your character pulling away instead of falling down to be bitten. It's a rare case and shouldn't be relied upon. Any other grab animation leads to damage unless you use a defense item.

Most of this explanation could have been avoided if you checked the control settings, experimented some, and read the tutorials. :3
