The demo of original RE2

Anyone else remember the demo being a COMPLETELY different game then what it turned out to be?
I always found that interesting. Wondering if anyone else remembered that or was around at that time.

I remember *reading* about the demo being different, how you got to the police station via a quicker shortcut and it ended with meeting Ada or something?
The only demo I ever played however was just the same start of the main game with a countdown timer.

Maybe it was a specific regional demo only that was different?

Do you mean Resident Evil 1.5? There is a ton of footage everywhere, including Youtube.

The demo that came with the Resident Evil Director's Cut edition? If so yeah i played that demo to death in anticipation of the games release (12 years old at the time). First time i ever remember pre ordering a game. I don't remember too much of a difference(considering i went on to play the base game multiple times) except when you got into the office room with the comms someone comes up behind you with a gun and it abruptly ends(if i'm not mistaken).

people are calling it 1.5 now i guess but it clearly said 2 on the title of the demo.

in fact it wasn't even a demo it was just a video...ulgh i wish i remembered what disc it was on. It was on a disc with a bunch of other demo's/videos.

1.5 is a scrapped early version of RE2. It had "Biohazard 2" in the title because it was developed as such. Actual demo of RE2 didn't differ much from the final game.

That's what we know as RE "1.5". It wasn't a demo though, just video footage of what RE2 was before Capcom decided to reset the project. People never played 1.5 until years ago a build got leaked to the public.

I'm very glad your enjoying it. 1.5 truly is an amazing piece of gaming history. the people restoring this gem are gods as well. I can't wait to see their finished product.

There was another demo of RE2. I remember playing it on the playstation. I remember that Leon's picture when you opened the menu was different and you actually met Ada in the S.T.A.R.S police station. This is what i meant...
