Steam unlocked an achievement I didnt earn...

I suddenly have the Leon "S." Kennedy achievement when I have never even finished Leon's run on Hardcore. Has anyone else ever gotten an achievement randomly like this??

Some games do that yeah.

Does that mean when I do complete his hardcore run for the rocket launcher will it still give me the gun even though steam thinks I already did it?

Can't know for sure but it should. Wrong achievements are usually due to some coding errors but games internal events still run properly.

Achievements should be coded in a way that they are just triggered after some conditions are met in a game, they shouldn't be the conditions themselves.

So it would be very bad coding if you don't receive the gun.

If you click "Story" and see under "Results" it will tell you what time you completed a playthrough in. The "S" rank achievement doesn't require you to play on hardcore, only that you need to play on standard at minimum. If you haven't even completed a run than maybe its just a bug

I've only completed an S and S+ run for Claire so I assume its just a coding error like ShenWolf mentioned, thank you for the replies!

I only started the game yesterday and i got the achievement for opening a safe for no reason i had not even seen a safe.
