Tired about the "Leon and Claire romance" bs

I'm a writer and script writer for around 12 years. I just can't see that happening no matter how far or close I look into the thing.

Leon and Claire have nothing to do with each other. If I were writing RE2 and the series up I would never attempt to make them lovers because they simple won't match. Nothing about them matches up, they're too courageous and heroic, just to think about ''romance'' between then is like a disgusting incest to me. What they need is differences as counterparts, and the original writer was really smart to create Ada (mainly working as a lever for the allegory of depression) and Claire had the little kid to save, working as a motivating force - it matches her caring personality perfectly well.

Having a crush is normal, as you see, our human race still is kinda only thinking about it all the time... but they were bound by a disaster - that makes them brothers in arms not romantic interest.

What I could write however (if I were tasked with it and I'm not and never will be) is a little crush that never works out, coming from Claire not Leon, in future games. The Ada situation is getting old already so I would just take the nearest chance to wipe it clean. Still wouldn't write them to be together with solid relationship, I would hate to be so one-dimensional when I can mess with audience.

What romance BS?

In the remake right after the helicopter crash they only say they're glad to see each other again in a mildly flirting way and that's it, there's no romance between them AT ALL.

People "ship" characters all the time, dude. Re2 is over 20 years old, so it's hardly surprising that people have "shipped" both Leon and Claire together and with several other characters in the RE series.

There is no romance between Leon and Claire. A little bit of flirting at the beginning but Leon's romance interest is obviously Ada.

If you're a writer/script writer you're either a no-name one or a failed one. Either way you sound like you want to do some fan fiction. If you want to go for it then do fan fic. Luckily Capcom won't listen to people like you.

And no instance of romance between Leon and Claire has ever been a thing. In the franchise they've just been good friends. Leon only has feelings for Ada. This is evident throughout multiple RE titles.

Because you disagree with me it doesn't mean I don't make sense. I clearly stated it was my style of writing. To put a guy and a girl in combat together, romantically, is incredibly predictable, simplistic, and for that matter annoying, no wonder why RPGs let you choose it - if ever.

It is sad to see your kind believing that a script writer has to be known globally. I'm not even from your country so, what that even means? if I were you I would reevaluate things before assuming (beyond your bedroom). It was just my opinion, don't need to have seizures because of it. The fact that you got all defensive is rather pathetic and sums pretty much why this is really a BS.

You couldn't even pay attention that I'm against them romancing, and I'm honestly tired to see people trying to make a point of why they should. You seem to agree I guess? Bur you tried to blast some immature little words regardless of the fact. You guy really need medical attention.

Capcom has been listening to generic intelligence from your generation, hence why Resident Evil 6 looks like a parody instead. Only now they learned to free themselves, they were always great without those types. Unlike Bioware mindless feedback absorption slowly mutating them into abominations like yours.

But ease up, I know this is Steam. Not exactly the best place to see good points on a toughtful discussion, only 16 years old guys complaing about depression and answering things in a teenager-angry state haha

Yeah well, the places I use to write on the internet are, every now and then, discussing that over and over. Steam is the only place that managed to be worse than Youtube but the anger is funny to read.

Exactly, there is no romance between then and that's a wise writing decision.

I played the game enough to 100% it. They didn't force any romance. Some flirting in the beginning but that was it and it was from Claire to Leon. By the end it was gone. Leon has only ever had an interest in Ada. If you think flirting is romance then that's on you. What immature word did I say to you? That you're probably a no-name writer? I honestly don't care if that bothered you.

You don't even know what my generation is. RE6 was garbage and there was a reason why they changed so drastically when RE7 was in development. Obviously you're projecting and don't even know what I do or don't like. Typical of tools like yourself.

If you're going to be negative, you may as well write the truth and make Claire say she's not interested in Leon because he's not 6 ft and doesn't make a 6 figure income. Maybe add a character with a golf club too.

Fully agree. The way they've been written since 98 makes them such a weird mach up. I've kinda felt the same way about Chris and Jill save for the Helicopter scene at the end of REmake but I kinda feel RE5 was the finishing blow on that.

Tons of people are gonna disagree, tho. Popcorn cinema has made people expect stuff like this all the time, I feel.
