I think it's more along the lines of....

Most people see asians all looking alike while there are some that can tell if an asian person is of chinese, japanese, korean... etc. etc. nationality/descent.

Ada Wong, being given a specific chinese name, *looks* asian but nothing like a chinese. *shrugs*
That's the point.
Resident Evil it's not the average manga where everyone looks the same, but lately they even went into face scans, so i was finally expecting that a precise nationality looks like should.

I may have a terrible case of yellow fever lust going on, but I don't think I've ever seen a bad looking Ada. I liked all of them. This is counting the movies (which I mostly hated) and cosplayers.

That said. Something about the voice and the facial features was great. Her dialog lines were fantastic as well. Hell her entire scenario was the best part of that game.

What the hell is "precise nationality"? Sounds like a term the nazis would have used back in 1940 or something. It's not always so obvious whether a person from Asia is Chinese, Japanese or Korean. In case of RE2R Ada, she may as well be one of the three. Don't just follow the internet stereotypes, go out and see more people.

Stereotypes?
Ada Wong is well know she's chinese, so how do you expected to look like?

It's like they made Leon or Claire japanese looks alike, as they are americans and the whole series it's located in an immaginary american city.

Have nothing to do with geography, but when you have a chinese girl, it should have a chinese look, not an average "asian" one, that looks anything than asian.

I'm not saying she's ugly or what, but you can't have an afro american snowy white, as you shouldn't have a chinese mercs looking average american.

It could be nitpicking, but names and races exists.
It has everything to do with geography. Asia is a continent. A land mass. China is part of Asia. A Chinese person is Asian. South east Asian would be more precise.

Indeed names do exist. Correct me if I`m wrong but I think everyone here has a name. I don`t think anyone was debating that.

If Leon and Claire had a Japanese appearance or facial features they could still be American. You are beginning to sound racist.

I know China it's part of Asia, but "looking asian" it's different as "looking chinese", as "looking american" differ a lot from Usa, Messico or Perù, but all are americans, but you'l never think that Leon could be Jamaican.
Got the point?
I'm not talking of nationality, but appareance, and the old Adas whre slightly looking as an asian girl, with the latest ones beign too caucasic, when she's chinese, not by nationality, but by born.

Anyway i think it's a waste of time trying to reason with someone who don't want to understand what i'm trying to say.

She's described as an American of asian descent, I may have missed it if it was mentioned that she's mixed.

Sure, there are times when you hear a person's name, you could imagine what they would look like, but often times, that's not the case.

Though scammers from India introducing themselves as 'John Smith' with heavy Indian accent is obviously a dead giveaway. :wink_eol:

OK i missed the mixed american/chinese, i always thought she's chinese, so it always seemed strange to me that every eiteration she lokked every time less asian and more caucasic, RE6 it's the example, she's more european than asian.
Re2 Remake finally have a real asian look at my eyes.
It's nitpicking, but they say that a charachter has born in a precise nation or by parents nationality, i expect the look to be choerent at least.

For a time that someone find some other plus point in the remake...
