How to fight Nemesis in RE3 Remake? (Discussion)
I´m interested how do you think he will act and more importantly can be taken down in the Remake?

Even with the defense weapons ie. Flashbang, Knives and Grenades, I could imagine he will be tough as nails with only Handgun and Shotgun because:
- He´s more aggressive and faster than Mr.X which leaves you with very few chances to shoot at him.
- If he wears the same bulletproof Coat like Mr.X, the only weakpoints are his head and the right shoulder.
- In regard of his Rocketlauncher, I have no clue how they could balance this.
(Assuming they keep Nemesis largley unchanged plus the resistance of the new Coat from RE2R)

Freeze Rounds are mid or late game options depending on your luck in the RPD
(and quite expensive because you need CC powder or normal grenades plus C)

- He was also more aggressive than Mr. X in the original but was still able to be fought with enough luck/skill.

- He's not wearing a coat in the remake so shots anywhere will probably be fine.

- Rocket Launcher wasn't a game ender in the original so I don't see why it would be here. The dodge mechanic is key, which is present in the remake.

You made some good points

Speaking of the dodge mechanics. From the looks of it, could be same active system from Revelations 2.

You can make 10 freeze rounds as soon as you pick up the lockpick, of course you have to get the grenade launcher early, yeah.

I think the rocket launcher might just be used in cutscenes, such as when he takes down the helicopter, instead of actual gameplay. Or he might shoot at you one shot at a distance in a scripted event. I don't see the rocket launcher being on him all the time as a possiblity.
I imagine fighting will be mostly the same as it was with Mr X and Jack Baker. Maybe this time around they play a little more with hiding or blocking his way or setting a trap to stop him.

Maybe we get the option to barricade certain doors or paths when he´s chasing us. They could combine this with destructible walls etc. for Nemesis if he´s near such a point. (Like the wall in the Conference Room Mr.X crashes trough, when you come from the Interrogation Room)

It is strange that in the trailer, Nemesis walked towards Jill with a slow step in the burning corridor as Mr. X would have done. In the original game, Nemesis could run much faster than Jill, and this is what made him particularly intimidating.

In the original Nemesis only runs toward you if you are at a certain distance from him. If you're closer he walks. This is heavily exploited in speedruns or in kill all Nemesis runs of the game. Most people don't seem to remember that cause they were just probably running from him most of the time hence making him run as well :)

Wow, I did not know about it. During my childhood, Nemesis was the scariest monster ever created (and he continues to be), so of course I always ran away from him, thus I remember him as the fastest runner in franchise history.

About Nemesis being too fast & aggressive... Original RE3 used to have a dodge system, so expect the same system to come into RE3: Remake(Or whatever it gets called by then).

That's pretty much what people used to fight Nemesis, just dodge.

In effect, most Nemesis encounters would have to be skippable bossfights - you either fight him and win/die or choose to flee/hide from him instead.
So just repeat what the original did?

You can ignore Mr.X in the Remake completly as well but not so much in the Original, where he appears mostly in tight corridors.

More or less, yeah - it's a remake after all. The difference would mainly be in how the pursuit is handled. In the original he followed us around for a few screens max. With no loading screens we would have to be able to hide or otherwise make him lose track of us for a bit while he's still searching (rather like it was with Mr. X, or better: with the Alien in "Alien Isolation").

Exactly what I think will happen. RE2 Remake had a similarity to Alien Isolation in the way Mr X chased you freely. I think they will just expand upon that.

but will there be a reward system for defeating nemesis in certain areas like in the original for rare gun parts and extra first aid spray

I hope not, it would look too gamey contrasted with the more realistic tone they have been going for.
