Tutorials to Holster Weapon (Using Shortcut / Quick Slot) in Resident Evil 2 Remake

I just copy this discussion from the post in 1-Shot Demo forum. Since I only own the demo.


Hello, there.

I found a way that I hope modders can make it into a mod (I'll do it myself if I could) on
How to Holster Your Weapon (Using Shortcut / Quick Slot) in Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Here's how you do it:
1. Download Model Swap Trainer from here:

2. Start RE2R game and load your savegame
3. Open your character's inventory
4. Open Model Swap Trainer and in Item Modifier, choose the Nothing slot, then I suggest to fill it with EMF Visualizer; for example (because that weapon has an issue with character's left hand), and let's call it "Dummy Weapon".
5. Go back in-game and put whatever your "Dummy Weapon" is in one of quick slot / shortcut (Down D-Pad for example).

WARNING #1: Never put your "Dummy Weapon" into the Item Box if you want to holster your weapon.

6. Voila! Now you can now holster your weapon everytime you press the "Dummy Weapon" shortcut!

This also works for any secondary weapon on back!


Hope this helps...


WARNING #2:
1. NEVER save your game with your "Dummy Weapon" in the inventory.
2. ALWAYS change your "Dummy Weapon" to Nothing (using Model Swap Trainer) before saving your game.
Because if you save game with "Dummy Weapon", later when you load your savegame, the "Dummy Weapon" will be equipped when you press shortcut / quick slot.
So just repeat the process no. 4 & 5 above (after you save the game). Then you can holster & un-holster your weapon through the end of the game.

NOTE TO ALL MODDERS IN THE WORLD:
Please create a mod to realize this concept in a simpler way...
I think:
Just make the game to recognize the empty quick slot as to holstering weapon is enough.
Because pressing the empty quick slot will do nothing...for now. Who knows in the future?
