Does samurai edge infinte counts as cheating?

so i have unlocked it yesterday when i finished leon A in 3 hours and 14 minutes with S+ ranking

so i tought if i did that lets see if i can unlock the other bonus guns the MP5 minigun and launcher

to do that i need to play in hardcore and get an S ranking so here i ask would the game still give me the S rank or higher if i meet the conditions even if im using infinite samurai edge

I believe you can use the infinite Samurai Edge to unlock the MP5 by getting an S rank in Hardcore, however to unlock the minigun and rocket launcher you have to get S+ rank in Hardcore without using any infinite weapons (infinite knife is allowed though).

yeah.. i tried the hardcore mode nearly took me 3 hours to get to g birikin stage 2 and at this point there is no way to run the rest of the game in 30 minutes

Try watching YouTube walkthroughs/speedruns for tips on how to save time. Also if you're using the infinite Samurai Edge, maybe you can skip over collecting pistol upgrades/ammo for the default pistol to save even more time. Infinite combat knife is also super helpful to permanently down zombies so use it if you have it unlocked, but try not to spend too much time killing zombies especially if you can just run past or are not going to come back to the area again/often. Shooting their legs off is also a good choice. I'm not a good player by any means and these tips helped me get S/S+ ranks in Hardcore.

No you CAN'T use the samurai edge to get S ranks it will lower your rank when you use it!

Only if you're aiming for S+. You can use any infinite ammo weapons and still get S rank iirc.

soo i did all those tricks and i was out of the police station in half an hour and beaten stage 1 birikin in 3 minutes and then i died after solving prision puzzle because i needed to get my infinte knife back whatever every failed attempt just speeds up my escape from RPD

Hey, at least you're making progress, right? I think if you have 1-2 flashes and maybe even a grenade on you when escaping the prison you can avoid getting grabbed by the zombies pretty easily. Or you can even just not stab a zombie and get bitten, then heal immediately afterwards if you don't want to lose the knife. Could be helpful in some situations.

Were you at least close? Also I just remembered I actually got my first S+ rank doing Claire A (I also only got A rank on Leon A the first time), so maybe Claire's run might be slightly easier.

Claire's run is easier since Leon has mid game hell in the sewers. knife lickers to death if you can't avoid them and save all your flame grenade rounds for the G adults and ivys. sparkshot can be ignored but get the silenced uzi, that thing melts all the bosses. when you try for Leon, ignore the magnum, it doesn't do enough to be worth the time and effort going to get it, skipping it should save you around 10 min.

if you want the powerful weapons you CANNOT use infinite weapons because its going to be too easy with Infinite Ammo so yea it sucks but there is another way
you can buy the ingame rewards unlock for RE2
Or
you can beat the game in less then 3 hours or at 3 hours

final time 2 hours 25 minutes 17 seconds number of saves 5 i did use the samurai edge for like large part of the game because i had to skip time on getting ammo for the M19 on the 2nd run Still A ranking

2nd run is harder to S+ if you don't know the optimal path since it's half an hour less than the A route. 2hr30 and 3 saves or less for A hardcore S+, 2hr and 3 saves or less for B hardcore S+
